Let God Be God

Luke 10:38-42 – “Now as they went on their way, he entered a certain village, where a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home. 39 She had a sister named Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to what he was saying. 40 But Martha was distracted by her many tasks; so she came to him and asked, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to do all the work by myself? Tell her then to help me.” 41 But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and distracted by many things; 42 there is need of only one thing.l Mary has chosen the better part, which will not be taken away from her.”

I’m convinced in 2015 that we must get out of the way and let God be God, and stop sabotaging our blessings God has in store for us! So many times we think if we don’t work hard enough, perform well enough or we don’t do XYZ that we’re somehow going to miss out on God’s best for us. We let our minds lead us to believe that God doesn’t really want to bless us, so we have to work hard and do all our exercises, chores and routines just so that God will be “good” to us – when the truth is, God wants to bless us. It’s His heart’s desire to pour out His blessings to His children, and to do so abundantly.

All that focus on performing and working leads to such striving (we’ve all been there).
Ask yourself, “Is this the way the children of the Lord should behave?” Should we have such strife and even fear in our hearts, that if we don’t work hard our Father is not going to bless us?

The reality is…God desperately wants to bless us, and if we allow God do His thing all by Himself, without any of our “help,” God will pour out such blessings that we will not be able to hold them ALL (which means we’ll have to give them away and share them with others).

So kickback, relax and quit striving in 2015 for fear that if you don’t hit the mark God’s not going to bless you. The truth is, you could be blocking some of God’s blessings and missing out, by being so caught up in all that stuff occupying your time – Let God Be God and stop sabotaging all the blessings God has in store for you!
